Q: I am charged a lease fee. I paid for my equipment upfront, so don't I own it?

A: As technology becomes more advanced, leasing allows us to provide the latest equipment with minimal upfront cost to the customer. The upgrade fees allow us to keep our monthly lease fees low. Many leased items require an upfront payment as well as monthly fees. Just like leasing a car, a customer pays an amount upfront and that amount allows the customer and the company to keep the monthly lease fee low.

Q: Why lease the DIRECTV equipment?

A: As the technology in our receivers becomes more advanced, leasing allows us to continue to provide the latest equipment to you — at minimal cost. Leasing also permits affordable upgrades and free replacement receivers.

Q: What is the difference between TiVo and the DIRECTV DVR?

A: The DIRECTV plus DVR also has many features you won't find on a TiVo receiver, things like:

• Faster speed and more recording capacity (depending on generation of TiVo you previously had. Example: RCA DVR40= 40GB    hard drive or 40 hours of recording space.)
